my engine is getting closer and closer to being put together ..
.stock bottem end rebuilt shot peened rods and linished crank .svo e303 hyd camshaft .gt40p's heads witch will be ported and flowed .edelbrock performer rpm manifold .demond 650 carb . all brand name valve train gear inc stainless valves ect and some more but cant remember .. my main guestoins are .. i need 10.0.1 compression how is the best way to achive this..? and would this combo with a stock bottom end handle a 50hp shot off gas or would that be suicide...? i want to run some decent numbers thats all and extra 50hp would really help low 13's in a cortina is the goal |

im not sure if this cam profile will suit gas if not i will change it out for a trickflow stage 1 witch has less durratoin on intake and more on exaust was told this will reduce cylinder psi and temputere

Comp ratio should be close with zero deck on block, check with engine machinist. With nitrous, what pistons are you running?
I run between 150 and 200hp on mine, with a NX hitman kit. Brilliant gear. |

150 at most. 100 will be good, make sure you run a dedicated fuel system on it, with a restrictor return line to keep a nice safe fuel load.

yer i only want 50 or mabee 100 at the most i just want to get at least a low 13 and i dont think the moter listed above will do it alone..
what is a cheap ignison system that has timing retard functoin and all that buiso to make sure it stays together i was told msd 6al but i was'nt aware they have all them functoins..? the only other thing it has is c4 tranny 3000 stall borgy diff with 3.9 mini spool |

When it comes to compression, knowing static compression is fine, however, what you really need to know is dynamic compression, the higher the dynamic compression the more power/torque you will get.

MSD digital 6 plus is what you want, but if you are only going to run 50 hit, its just as easy to pull out the timing. I would pull 1-2 per 50 hp you run.

well thats what i thortgh that i could just take a few degrees out manuelly but the blokes down at our local speed shop said that the 50hp would not make it any guicker due to the lack of advance on off bottle throutle...
i think he is full off sh*t my self but i dont no ether so he could be right |

Static compression is the compression made based on the compression in say a motor rotation by hand or by basic calculation. Dynamic compression considers the compression including the camshaft overlap and opening and closing times during engine running, this level will always be lower than static compression. It is more relative in power output calculations. Google Motor dynamic compression. ETC
