I put my bets on a rooted harmonic balancer.

Daniel The BPT underdrives dont come with the harmonic balancer, they are just the pulleys themselves. You can get powerbond race balancers for a little over $200 these days, the street version would be even cheaper i'd assume. That'd be the way i would go.

If you decide to go Powerbond, VPW do them for a good price.
I paid around 220 IIRC for my Powerbond Race balancer. Part numbers are PB1084-ST for the Street balancer, and PB1084-SS for the Race balancer.

What is the difference between race and street? Race suitable for revs or something?

Street is nodular iron, race is forged steel and SFI certified.

Race: Rated to 8500+rpm SFI approved all steel
Street: Rated to 6500rpm non-SFI steel outer cast inner. Prices are $165 for street $210 for race.

Won't really make a difference power wise. It will just rev smoother.
