Hi
I have a Series 1 EF XR8 and I want to fit the Explorer manifold off an AU. I have read in a lot of posts that the Explorer manifold doesn't use EGR, but what about the Series 2 EL's that had them? I would like to have it working so that I can keep the timing normal and not have to worry about pinging or the chance of getting any nasty fines. Can I set it up the same as the EL's (assuming that they did have EGR)?

Also, would I need to get a gasket set to suit series 2 EL XR8 or AU XR8?

When i did mine changeover i used my original throttle body etc and bolted it up to the explorer, and i blocked off the coolant tubes in the throttle body, the gasket set will be the same, apart from the gasket between the upper and lower manifold which is different.

use or make adaptor spacer plate to bolt on egr and throttle body, use aluminium plate.i use one to mount gas research gear to my stock one.
