my car basically ran outa fuel just when i got home one night, was going away so i skunged on $10 of fuel and just left it, anyway the car sat there for a couple weeks with no fuel in it at all, now my fuel consumption is shocking.
i been reading and apparently having no fuel in there can create moisture? either way i've heard it can rust the lines out, due to my economy from my last 2 re-fills i'm sure something has happened. what do people suggest? change the fuel filter and is there an additive i can use to clear s**t from the lines? what harm have i done for the sake of $10? |

Replace filter, reset ECU, and see how it goes. Could be a myriad of things, but define how bad your consumption is, and what it was before.

ok the fuel consumption i haven't actually checked the speedometer to see actual kms, but id say its dropped by probably 60kms per tank. Has always had bad consumption. get about 380 close to 400 per tank if i run it from over full until the fuel light comes on. now its probably more like 330ish a tank.
and Quote: 600 ml of metho will help with any water in the system.
sounds scary. |

The owners manual says that it is not good to run your vehicle out of fuel, it can damage things, incl the cat, dont run the risk, keep some in there, its not good, pick s**t up remaining in the bottom of the tank, clog the filter etc. Dont be a jew.

metho works well for ridding the system of water as it merges with water then carries it through the system,,the metho burns in the chamber.
