recently pulled my xr8 out after about 6 months to find i have no horn or cruise control. I have the momo wheel, ive checked the vacuum lines and the module and everything seems ok under the hood.

Has anyone else had this problem? is it the cruise switch?

if its something easy ill fix it, but at the moment its just sitting in the drive so its no biggie, thanks guys!

Could be the electrical contacts on the back of the steering wheel. They are little spring loaded contacts which slide over the metal rings on the back of the steering wheel. I have gone through a few contacts with the same symptoms, no horn or cruise control. Fairly easy fix, just have to take off the steering wheel to access them. From emmory they just pull straight out, pull the wire off the back and replace them. Ford do replaceemnts in a pack of 4 I think, they aren't too dear.

The cruise buttons all work through the horn ring on the steering wheel by varying the resistance. So my guess is something is going wrong there?

Is your Airbag light flashing or anything could be your clock spring it is a round package under your steering wheel and airbag, It slides over your steering column. I had the same thing go wrong my horn or stereo buttons didnt work and it turned out to be the clock spring. I removed my old steering wheel and put a leather one on and it disrupted it.So i had to buy another one from ford they are pretty easy to install.

you might find that the brush that runs on the slip ring is worn out.

just worth noting that the horn and CC share a common earth. I came across this when I removed CC from a falcon.. the horn stopped working! :) This may help you in diagnosing the issue.
