my new car is a ba fairmont ghia 5.4L
the engine makes ticking sounds at idle but its fairly quiet. but as soon an you increase the revs even the tinyest bit the ticking gets really loud.
the only way i can describe the noise it makes is that it sounds like a diesel 4x4.

its giving me the s**t really bad it sounds horrible until you give the car abit of s**t and the exhaust note covers it up.

what could it be??
ive heard of timing chain problems etc on ba's but i thought that only really caused a quiet tick at start up.

help appreciated, cheers.
