ive got oil leaking between the dipstick hole in the oil pan & the dipstick tube.

Any ideas how to fix or if this is a common problem???

I think they are welded to the pan???? Clean and asses the area and you might get away with some metal putty ( like the muffler stuff) if its not too bad. Thats all I can think of except drop and replace the pan

if its leaking from around the tube, then there is an o-ring that can be replaced, however if its leaking from around the plate thats rivited to the pan, then not much can be done apart from cleaning it up and using something like devcon to seal it up

I cleaned & assessed the area as pointed out by 79raven, i have inspected the area once again after i just finished degreasing the car at a local car wash.

It seems that the rivets & the plate are all OK, the leak seems to be residing from the dipstick tube & the hole in the pan.

I have an 'O' Ring kit here i will need to work out which size it is.

Any clues/suggestions as to the size of the 'O' Ring?

O ring to fit the outside diameter of the dipstick tube, as long as the oring fits the tube without falling off it will be fine

looks like ive got it all sorted.

will keep an eye out over the next few days etc.
