Is the oil pressure sender on the EB 5.0L the same as the EA-AU 4.0L sender?

Christ, here's a can of worms

Ive asked the question before with no avail. I've dug up some info on the senders used by the Mustangs with these engines.

(The mustang 5.0L HO one:)

I need to verify but think its a 1/4" NPT thread - pretty standard stuff.

BTW: seeing as you've (prolly) got the engine out, can ya tell me what size socket you use to get it off? Have a feeling the standard switch needs a 1 1/4" deepy...

wanna come up with an intelligent reason why ford would do that?

as far as my VDO sender test sheet goes, the EF/EL had different resistance values for the oil pressure sender compared to the EA-ED, but then the application guide says EA-EL use the same sender..... go figure

doesnt say anything about the V8's tho, but i'd assume they use the same sender

They use the same dashboard so i dont see why resistance values would be different.

Prolly more an issue of making sure you have the right size thread.
