Hey, I think the oil pressure in my EL 5.0 sits a little bit low, I've attatched 2 pics, the pic where it's higher is doing 100km/h on the freeway, and the pic where it's lower is at an idle. It seems to be worse when the engine's warm. Makes a VERY SLIGHT bottom end knock occasionally too but it doesn't have me overly concerned just yet. The motor seems to go well, and it's nice and reliable. Running Penrite HPR30 20W/60 engine oil and a bottle of Nulon worn engine treatment at the moment.

If it has a slight knock, then it's worn.....original spec oil for an EL V8 was 15W40....as was for the AU V8's.
Time for a rebuild ???

Put a mechanical gauge on there before making and decisions. As long as you have about 10lbs at idle and 20lbs at cruise, it is fine for everyday driving. Those 5.0s just keep running. Remember, most of the 5.0's only had an oil light for low pressure warning, coming on around 7psi.
