The short version, I have fitted an AU throttlebody to my EB 5.0, everything I read says I have to use the original 2 TPS's, modified, throttle shaft filed down etc..
Question I have is, is there any good reason why I can't use an EF 4.0 TPS (fits perfectly, bolts & all. Plus I have the wiring & plug) with both trans & ECU wiring joined and connected into the one sensor?? Just a thought before I wake up tomorrow and get busy with the drill & file.

well drill & file did the trick, car is running awesome.
I'm guessing there is a different voltage sent between TCM & ECU.. Anyone?? just curious now.

Yes each separate unit has it's own Vref and signal gnd. They won't appreciate being tied together.
If it was two EEC's you could tie the signal grounds and share the Vref from one EEC....ive done this on my 4.0L MAF conversion where I used a 5.0 EEC to run the 4.0 engine and the stock EEC to run only the trans. It's possible that this could work with the V8 TCM too. |

Thanks for the reply, sounds like 2 TPS's is definately the way to go!
Also sounds like you're playing with some very interesting hardware...

No worries partsguy, Well that 4.0L diversion was many years ago but..... My next project is using a BA PCM to control my 390 in my '69 XR7 Cougar with drive-by-wire turned off. |
