Hi fellas,

I just went and visited pavtek today regarding getting my el xr8 windsor rebuilt.

It came down to 2 packages.

1.347 stroker complete for $9750 which would be good for around 425hp and the guys said is good for high 11's

Or

2. 363 stroker complete for $12500 which is good for 475hp and was told is good for around low 11's or high 10 maybe.

Has anyone tried either of the combos? I must say they look damn good value!

I only popped in for a quick chat as I had to big up something for my brother inlaw.

I believe they are supplying them with alloy heads.

Good value hey. That's laughable. Try a similar engine through fordstrokers and it would be heaps cheaper even when you add in freight, customs duty etc. Only problem is the wait times cause he is so busy.

I have never heard of a single fault from Fordstrokers. They absolutely rave about them on the yank mustang forums.

I'm assuming the Pavtek motor would come with RHS alloy heads as that is the windsor specific head they like to promote (its a very nice head but seems to be pricey). As for intake. Well it is injected. I'm assuming you will only get a long motor for that price and have to fit your own intake. All of a sudden that $9750 will blow out to the mid teens by the time the intake and fuelling requirements are adressed.

And 425hp for a high 11..... in a 16-1700kg E series? Lower your weight by 2-300kg and it might become believable.

Another thing to consider is are they dart blocks, in the 363's case it would be.

The problem with doing a dart (if your not shooting for some serious hp) is it changes the way the front of the car handles, I wouldn't go as far as to say it ruins handling but I know for a fact the grip in the front end is substantialy less than before.

How much heavier is a Dart compared to the stock Ford block?
