Hi

I am posting this up on behalf of a mate. Does anyone know the meaning of the paint ???

He has bought this AU2 XR8 manual from interstate. 220kw with 11700km on the clock. The engine pulls very hard and spins up the wheels quite easily. Feels more powerful than any cleveland driven previous.

However there is this mysterious pink paint in the engine bay. The paint is on the inlet manifold, block and sump.

We want to know whehter it is a marking by a special engine workshop or just someone being too excited with a spray can ??

yeah the engine is a winsor, but seems pulls harder than a normal one. We haven't opened the engine up to have a look.

whats the name on the tickford sticker on the drivers side rocker cover?
there was a wives tale about a female engine builder in the tickford plant
they made her change her name on the engraving for the plates because the marketing department thought guys would get upset that a female built their engine so before she quit she spraypainted some of the engines pink to piss management off and they belive that a couple sliped thro the inpection process and made it into some cars
a couple had to be remove at some dealers and resprayed black and had new mainfolds put on because they where hard to sell????????????? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

For serious? That would be pretty out there if it's the case. Or are you just pulling the young fella's leg?
