I need some pistons for my 5.0 build.. The block is mint so I'm not going to bore it. But it had crap pistons in it with no valve reliefs. My engine builder thinks I should just get some decent aftermarket cast pistons for it.

But I've found someone selling a set of STD pistons from a 1986 Mustang engine..

They would be the factory Forged items wouldn't they? Is there anyway to tell for sure? I've been sent this pic

If that piston is one of them then leave them alone.

Used pistons in a good block is a bandaid fix, not a rebuild.

By the look of them they have either done a lot of miles with no maintainance or been buried to protect them from theft. Piston ashtrays do sell, I think.
