While doing the 100 000km service on my Fairmont last weekend I split the boot on one of my leads, so now I need a new set of leads.
I'm not looking for top of the range products, just good quality 8.8 or 9mm leads. What are people's recommendations? Darin.

Hi darin
Shortly after buying my car i put champion (i think 9mm?) leads on my engine... probably 18months ago now... Handful of sparkplug changes and the boot has held up well, seems very well built. Performance - cant complain, delivers a spark everytime at 5500rpm and 6psi boost..... I havent spoken to anyone else who uses the champions... so have heard neither good nor bad things.... Sourced from Repco IIRC.... So you've hit 100k? That windsor's finally broken in, lol.

RC-FDK813 is the part number of NGK leads that you'll need.
NGK are great leads and not pricey like some can be. Otherwise Bosch would be a good choice to. |

I too am using the Red Champion Plugs, no probs what so ever n they do hold up well with removal n dont come loose.. I also just hit 100k n everything possible has been serviced for now to keep things workin.

I've got the Bosch racing leads, no problems what so ever with these - might have to give the champions a go next time just to see how they go.
I guess I don't need the red champions cause I don't have a red engine bay |

Yep, 100 000km at last... Monty has finished puberty
I'll have to have a look at these Champion and NGK leads. A friend of mine who is a mechanic, recommended Pro Spark leads. Has anyone heard of those?

Magnecore or QIL (Queensland Ignition Leads) are first class all the way - have tried all rest the rest... in my opinion, these are the best!

Well, I went with the Pro-spark 9mm spiral core leads, after my mate reminded me I have been running pro-spark 8mm leads on our Laser for the last three years faultlessly.
Made here in Adelaide and I was really looked after on price too, so I knew I could get a set before next weekends dyno day Haven't fitted them yet, will do on Saturday morning. Looking at them they are a quality lead. Just for a laugh, has anyone else priced up genuine Ford leads for an EB-EL V8? Sitting down? Trade price $250!!! Bugger that for a joke.

Bought Eagle's for $50, haven't had a problem yet. Queensland ignition are meant to be the goods.

Magnecor, aussie made, guaranteed for ten years, and all the V8 supercar teams use them, and reasonably priced too...
Check out the pipes on the HRT engine on the dyno on their web site, s**t hot..... www.magnecor.com.au |
