Who cares really each case maybe a bit different from the other, and theres always new news on different performance mods... for example my bf xr8 which had a panel filter, now has a pod with ram air supply. custom made by my imagination and its great the CFM has increased thus giving me more throttle response and more mileage fondly enough

I'm interested to know what it takes to put the pod inside the airbox... I thought about getting a pod, but don't want it sucking hot air. If I put it inside the airbox then feed cold air from the bottom as well as stock induction, I think it could be beneficial?

i brought a $3 pvc elbow from bunnings & a airpod adaptor & mounted mine in the box & cut a 3"hole through bottom of box & got more pvc & ran it to front near bumper it seems to have worked well . i have felt a little increase in performance .

There've been a few punters who have added a second intake into the bottom of the airbox from the front bar and had good results - you just have to add some protective mesh to stop serious stones from getting up there depending on your design.

when i had my xr8 i tried the pod without the box it went ok but once the engine bay would heat up in traffic the idle would hunt slightly so i put a k&n panel filter the went much better but didnt have that induction noise. ive got the pod in the airbox in my 6. with the home made cai made from a old au snorkle and two 2" flexable hoses and it works great. just to see. when i put the std filter on and went for a run the car was lacking a little top end pull compared to the pod in the box..
