EF ghia V8 :-

Today the car went on the ECU code checker for auto issues and on the intro screen - it said "Police" , what does this mean? Its a EF Fairmont Ghia, It was never issued to police imo.

Tranny guy reckons it could have been changed computer, or engine? But it all matches.

Cluter is normal ghia cluster btw.

The diagnostics computers are uplinked to the police computers.

It means your car has been reported stolen or involved in an 'incident' and the coppers are on thier way as we speak!!! Best hole up where you are and lay low for a while I'd think.

OR....

It could mean that the computer is from an ex-chaser V8 Falcon and it got swapped over at some stage in its life.

That'd be my guess, but probably still best to lay low for a good week till the dust clears!!!!

Not much genuine info on these - From what I gather not speed restricted, and gearshift differences?

I also read in a thread, opt20 ecu will not allow 4th upshift until 60km/hr?

Not worried about it "being anything special" trying to get info on differences - not just hear say.

Do you want to tell all your mates you have a fully sick police computer that gives you heaps more horsepower and pulls to 6000rpm with hard gear changes and no speed limiter and an extra cylinder welded on that the ecu controls then go ahead haha.

Why not try a genuine source instead of wasting your time here, go and call ford or the pig records or something.

Go jump numbskull - seriously :D

thats a post Id expect from a 17 year old bud....

For f**k sake I was just wondering what the hell they had in the way of differences- noticeable or not! I had never seen it come up before and nor had auto tech.
