does anyone know of a good business that has experience in porting & matching upper/lower exporer manifolds.

do you need to supply heads to port match, or can the services be done by using gasket outline?

cheers

Never port match the exhaust :!:

Port matching will need the heads to be present. Gasket matching is only a good idea when the gasket size is nearly the same as the ports. If significantly larger, gasket matching will hinder flow as it has to expand & contract, slowing it down & speeding it up, reducing the amount of air:fuel mix that gets into the chamber before the valve closes.

For an explanation of how port & gasket matching is done, see this link.

thanks mate,

but couldn't you just provide the porter with the head runner trace as they did in the article.

the problem i have is that no-one in darwin can do this stuff so i'll have to send off down south. so if i could avoid sending the heads that would be better. anyone know of any good places?

i an currently in the US so another alternative is to buy the explorer manifold and get it done here, as i am buying a set of GT40X and getting a bit of work done to them aswell. just have to gin around getting them back to Oz.

so, a set of gt40p and a explorer intake may be for sale
