can ne1 tell me the rough power loss from the engine to the wheels? its backed by a 4 speed auto?

Well a 240 kw XR6t puts out 180 rwkw in auto form and little over 200 rwkw manual....On same dyno on same day...Over 8 to 10 different cars of same model..Whats that approx 10% difference...

A good manual box will loose around 15-20%, the ford 4 speed auto will be around the 25-30% mark. As with everything mechanical you must take into consideration age, kms travelled, engineering tolerances etc etc

I have also found that the more power you have the less difference you will have between the motor and rear wheels.
The e-series v8 had about 110-115 rwkw with a 165kw donk. If I took that diference and applied it to my 180odd rwkw, I would haveabout 270 odd fly wheel kw. In reality i think it's more like 240 odd fwkw, like the BA turbos. Just an observation I thought might be worth mentioning

This topic is discussed heaps on the net. From what I know, from engineering school, a piece of equipment takes a certian amount of power to turn, you get the rest from its outlet. There from power lose isn't really a percentage of input power, it's a fixed number for a fixed load.
I'd say about 20-30kW for a manual and 40-60kW for an Auto. Chich is right though, a s**t condition box will have more loss.
