Looks like i have a power steering leak. Ive cleaned up the rack and looks like one of the thin metal pipes has a small hole in it. The clutch cable has been rubbing against it. What are these pipes called??? There are two thin metal lines that connect to the main rack and then near where column attaches.
Anything else i should look out for?? |

The pipes are pressure/return for the rack piston, depending on where the piston is. From the pic, it looks like a std O ring fitting - they're not flared are they ??? Fit new O rings, make sure the old ones are not left in the rack housing.Check the clutch cable, and make sure it's not chafed through to the inner cable - cable tie it to help it maintain position.

My old bus is pissing steering fluid all over the place. I think Its the high pressure hose?
I have replaced the o-rings on the pump fittings which helped a while ago but now there is so much fluid on everything it's hard to pin point the source. I will find out when I do the head soon...
