Right, so i have an EB GT ECU here ready to stick into my LTD to replace the stocko ECU, Question one is: What does the auto comp on the pedal box actually look like? and 2, am i able to remove the entire thing, because if it is the silver ECU look a like thing sitting beside my pedal box, it has about a tonne of wires flowing out the bottom, its a silver box with a yellow sticker on it and a massive loom hanging out it's a**. How much of this can i remove and where does it stop? EG can i just remove it and leave the wires there or can i rip the entire loom out. I have the manual conversion guide for the EF/L 6cyl, but i dont know how much of that relates to the 1993 era V8's, LTD/s XR8's.
if anyone has a V8 manual conversion guide or pics etc, that would be great. Cheers fella's, Mason |

Yes you sound like you have found the TCM. Most of the wires go to a round and rectangular black connector near the firewall which then goes to the auto. Just remove the TCM and leave the wiring there and when you put the manual in, wire in the reverse lights and bridge the auto inhibitor switch wires while you are under there. Are you hands on? Very easy job even for the mechanically retarded.

I've got the loom for the manual box etc, that plugs into where? and any reason why i have to wire up the reverse lights and bridge the inhibitor switch wires? Should the reverse lights not be already taken care of by the manual box loom? |

Use the loom if you have it otherwise it is a 2 minute job modifying the auto loom.

Ahh i getcha, yeah i will just be plugging the manual loom in. Does any of the wiring from the tcm go anywhere else, as i would love to get rid of it all as it is quite bulky.

Most of the wires go to the plugs that I earlier described. I wouldn't bother removing them, big job pulling the loom apart plus two big yellow plugs tucked under the dash isn't that bulky when you are talking about a LTD.

espeicialy when all the manaul e-series V8s already have the full auto harness already, so not a big deal.
unless you enjoy pulling looms apart of course lol

Have you got the 24lb injectors and 70mm MAF to go with the 2DDA EEC?

Might just need to do the resistor trick on the Gear selector wires like you do for the EF/EL conversion. Obviously these come from the TCM loom in our case (well I wired in an EL ecu so not for me anymore ). I'll email you the TCM pinouts if you want...hmmmm on the EL's it just needs to know its in nuetral or park to start the car, and the trans temp is ok so the thermo fans don't go all the time(which we don't have...for the time being). I guess if your ripping the whole TCM out it's not needed at all? Bonus?

Yes you certainly will otherwise it will run far too lean. |

Does anyone know if the BA injectors will do, what lb are they? I'm looking at a set of those Ford design 3 24lb'ers from the states, reasonably priced at about 100us 2nd hand.
