I am thinking about my next project car as I have just sold my previous one. I used to have an EL XR8 which I loved dearly but was written off by hail damage. I love the note of a windsor with twin pipes as well as the low down torque. Mine was however an auto which I wasnt a massive fan of.

anyway....

A friend of mine bought a VS 5.0 manual ute recently. Basic breathing mods. Overall it went and sounded pretty good. He just finished a home built turbo kit on it. Appropriate sized turbo for good response, big cooler and a tune for 8psi and the thing absolutely hauls!! Such a great thing to drive in.

This has inspired me to do something a little different and get myself an EL or Au xr8 manual in good condition and do something similar. Retain that great sounding windsor, bucketloads of bottom end torque and a little bit of character!

I was keen to hear of peoples experiences with turbo kits on these motors. can you get single turbo kits for them. any problems with the idea? what about a top mount supercharger? would look mean to have just a hit of it through the bonnet as i know they dont fit under the bonnet.

any thoughts, experiences and results from yours or others projects would be great.

Only "kits" I have seen are to suit mustangs.
