g'day all
was just wanting to know on stock "5.0" engine's what the rev limit is? as i've a nl fairlane....in drive with foot to the front bar it'll change at around 5 grand....yet on tacho red line is 5 & a half  what's the norm for a stock donk?

I don't really take my ED past 4500rpm.. doesn't seem to be any point, all it does it make more noise (although it does sound good).

Rev limit is something like 6200.
I agree with fnp though, don't even bother taking it that high.

Your motor makes less power over about 5k. I think my XR makes power to 5200.

thanks for the feed back, wasn't sure as have read alot of different articles with different figures in them....& service manual's says nothing about peek rpm.

the actual rev limiter is suppose to be at 6250. you'll never hit it with a stock motor tho.. (and dont try lol)

A Windsor is not a Honda engine.. it doesn't need to have its tits revved off to make a bit of power.. nice unstressed lazy relaxed motor, and thats the way it should be anyway.

they only have crappy 5/16 big end bolts in them too and if you constantly take it to 6250 ....they'll stretch and.......BANG!!
i only take mine to 5900 ....but its still a worryin thought  ...if my motor ever comes out some ARP's will be goin in
