I want to get a set of Rocker Covers for my 5.0L EFi..
there are lots of nice stock height ones but I ought to get some
capable of fitting over roller rockers incase I fit them later on.

Do you have to get 'tall covers' to fit roller rockers? and will they fit
under EFi manifolds ususally?

Depends what type of roller rockers you get, I have non adjustable roller rockers under my stock rocker covers, but if you get adjustable ones, I believe you need taller covers.

not much if your leaving the engine fairly stock, adjustable rockers removes the need to F**k around with different length pushrods.

I got a set of the cobra efi covers from Summit Racing in the states, what I didn't realise at the time is they don't suit our intakes, the oil filler is about a 1/3rd of the way back on the left hand side one, so it is directly under the manifold plenum, I sold them and will eventully get a set for the EFI trucks, apparently they will fit no worries.

I have a set of COBRA efi covers, and 1.72 adjustable RR. By machining out the high points/casting marks, they can be made to fit the adjustables. I also had to remove the baffle plate below the filler on the rocker covers. Hope this helps.

hey Brett which ones do you have, the truck ones??, can you post up a pic, cos mine just would not fit, I even tried swapping sides, but the throttle cable mount and cable bundles got in the way.

Will get a pic up tomorrow. I have 2 pairs actually. I used the EFI one with no oil hole. Then i used a carby one on the TB side. This was modified to run a line back to the TB. The filler is now infront of the TB. As a result the COBRA sits at the rear of the motor on both sides if that makes any sense. I still have the EFI cover with the oil filler, but as you stated it cannot be fitted due to the accelorator cables etc being in the way

If you get the right length pushrods, it keeps the rocker geometry correct. Just work out how much was removed from the heads and the block, and make them that much shorter.

Nope, get the bloke who installed the cam and rockers to use an adjustable pushrod, then measure the length. Make sure the tip of the rocker is in the centre of the valve, you would be surprised how much difference 1mm can make when you have adjustable rockers.
