Hi MITCHY
with new plugs it runs fine but after about 20km she develops like a miss- dead spot but plugs look to be fine it has happened with all plugs that we have put in her before we put the Accel super coil direct Thundermax distributor but still doing it. Might put new kit through Holley 650 vac & new Performer intake that's all that remains form the original set, running out of idea's quickly Can wrong plugs damage a motor that's not even half run in has yet? devondevil |

Well i am no mechanic but if it idles ok and other than the dead spot runs ok (ie: no miss fire) got to be fuel or air. Not the plugs. My guess is take it for a drive without the fuel cap on!!!! sounds like its starving for fuel

Try closing the plug gap down to .8mm
Check you have correct plugs for the heads... E7 have shorter plugs than GTp's etc.. Check leads at night with engine running?? Any bright leads etc ..It's breaking down...

Thanks EBXR8380
we will do has you suggest, we are starting to think that its the Holley 650 vac we going to put new kit through it see if that helps if not we'll get new carby with intake manifold, tho my sons mate reckons he has & can modify the Holley can't make it any worse I guess. again thanks devondevil |

at idle when u blip the revs is the flat spot still there?
maybe just the accellerator pump needs adjustment, the pump hangs off the front rh side of the fuel bowl and there's an adjustable screw with a spring around it. get a couple of 3/8 spanners and loosen this screw/nut off a bit and start the car any blip it again, see if that helps |

Hi elf100capri
idles nice - runs well up till the flat spot & then runs well after it,but now the son has had enough frustration, going to search for new carby he's pretty confident that will solve the issue. thanks to everyone for their advice thanks elf100capri devondevil |
