i've just recently purchased a eb 5.0 and as i do with all cars i buy i service them regardless of history. start fresh if you like. anyway i bought some plugs (ngk bpr5fs 15- book listing) but when i pulled the old ones out (bosch super 4) i noticed the bosch were about 5mm longer. this means they stick into the combustion chamber further. after doing some investigating i found that they are listed as ed xr8 plugs. i think they are a colder plug. there is no super 4 listing for eb v8. i would think a longer plug would be better. what would be the reason for someone fitting ed xr8 plugs? i have since put the bosch ones back in as i feel it runs better particularly on cold start.
opinions please

If you have E7 heads then the shorter plugs a for you....E.D engine is the same.. The Sprint had the longer plugs for G40 heads....

obviously the long plugs will not come in contact with anything as they were already in and o.k. it seems to have better cold start with the longer ones. is this just my imagination or could this be the case. the book didn't say anything about sprint either, just ed xr8. makes sense though as i was wondering why there was a diff listing for that 5.0 only.

BPR5 FS- 15 gapped at 1.4 mm]ugs .. But if its modified alittle BPR6FS-15 can be used.. The higher the number the colder the plug..
Btw I run BPR"7" EFS in mine... The Sprint has BPR EFS pugs ... http://www.ngkspark.com.au/part_index.h ... e_type.htm Often engines in sports type cars have slightly colder plug even though engine is the same...

does the 'e' in the code stand for 'extended or something. is that the diff between bpr6fs and bpr6efs. it has stage 3 cam and porting to heads and intake. not sure if this would require colder plug but that seems to be what he was running in it before. the bpr6efs 15 is the ngk equivelent to the bosch plug in it. i guess it can't do any harm to run the longer plug seeing as how it seems to help cold start ability.
