Hmm, might be a smartlock thing, my EB2 doesn't have smartlock and it doesn't have a limiter either.

XR's have alloy tail shafts, therefore its not supposed to be an issue, its only the heavy steel shafts (stock) that are limited to 180, I think you will find the XR's are limited to around 230 with the alloy shaft from memory.

EA/EB/ED shafts are thicker than the EF/EL shafts as well, so be careful. In fact, looking at an EL shaft, I wouldn't drive any faster than 30 with that think attached.

yeah falcons that have a limiter are 180, xrs are the same unless they have the upgraded tail shaft which is ED xr8, EBGT, ELGT and some EL xrs have em

My Fairmont ED was limited to 185,now i got the EL Ghia I dunno what the limit is but ive only done 175, (on a controlled circuit of course)

My EL Fairmont GHIA 5.0LT... had no speed limiter... i had that 200+ on the odd occasion...
