I have one. No big drama on the fitting. Lots of air flow potential when the rest of the engine is brough up to scratch.
Check gallery for pic.

is there much cuting involved or would using a round file do the job?

A stanley knife was very useful in enlarging the airbox hole as the plastic isn't overly thick. It also doesn't clear the pulley behind it by much so make sure you pull the lip forward as much as possible when measuring for the two screw holes.
Mine is very secure and hasn't budged in two years.

I've got one to install (upgrading from AU3 tickford snorkel), and concorde already has one.

Just the snorkel from memory. The only holes are the ones in the front lip of the intake.

they normally come with a piece of aluminium which bolts under the 2 screws spose to deflect the air into the opening (did u get 1) they arent very well mad i made abigger 1 out of alloy and boxed in so it scoops air better dont know wether its much benefit (it cant hurt) :D

I have just fitted 1 this week to my ef xr8 and it does make a difference.
took me an hour to fit with a drill and jigsaw.

But after i fitted it the car was idling pretty rough so i searched a few forums on resetting the idle. It is better but it does say it would take around 500kms to fully take effect.

I can't see fitting a snorkel is going to affect idle quality? What else did you do at the same time?

Yeah i find it very strange myself.
I remember a couple of years back, a forum members car was idling s**t after fitting a Tickford snorkle, i found it almost impossible to believe.
