Couple of weeks ago I ran my car dry by accident. Ever since then I can't start it without pumping the accelerator. I'm not sure what to look at to try and find out what could be causing this. Any help is appreciated.

I'm assuming he did :?.

If you have run it dry fuel wise. I think the petrol pump has picked up dirt and blocked the fuel filter.

Try replacing the fuel filter and see how that goes.

Fuel filter would probably be blocked and if you haven't replaced the fuel filter for a while, then by running the fuel dry, would have added to the blockage.

Does the car run sluggish a bit? Especially when you give it a bit? I had problems starting my car (I6) and I replaced my fuel filter, oil filter and oil and now the car starts up first go.

Hopefully your fuel pump hasn't carked it due to running it dry.
