Gday,

Im building a supercharged 383 stroker, I have had the block tested and is all good. Everything is forged and balanced.

Just wondering what kind of hp limit the std block can take?

Cheers,

Matt

Many varying factors come into play with what it will handle, but lets just put it this way, if you can drive it on the street, you wont break it.

A yellow BA XR8 has a stock clevo block, I assume prepped and all that junk and its putting down around 2000hp at the wheels.

If the bore's don't split I'd say 750 h.p for long term indurance with abuse..
Some hi po engines are full of block filler which reduces cooling... O/K for dyno queens and drag racing using alcahol.....

Its only going to be for the street. It will be interesting to see what the old girl does. My aim was 500, anything over that is a bonus.

Thanks for the feedback, I was thinking about 600 also.

Cheers,

Matt
