What Model, EB,EL,AU 5.0L got the strongest block?

I have the option of buying a EL V8 or an AU V8 motor for the same price.

I'd go the AU as they have the GT40P's on them.
I don't think the blocks really changed but i'm not 100% on that.

The actual blocks are the same. Just the heads and manifold are different. AUs had a better manifold and heads.

Yeah, blocks are the same crappy thin wall castings from EB to AU. Heads are soo much better on the AU though....

Get an early 70's block and use retrofit "link bar" hydraulic roller lifters if you want a tuffer block.

351W blocks are even stronger.

Or go nuts with the credit card and get a Dart "Iron Eagle" or World "Man O War" block.

The roller blocks are 25 Lb lighter so material has to come from somewhere....Dart or Eagle for sure...Better oiling, 1/2 inch head bolts on 8.2 inch blocks MUCH thicker cylinder walls, any issues from std blocks has been cured...Known to take up to 2500 h.p.....
