can't give you total length as i don't have a V8 bellhousing. can give you the 6 cylinder input length & length of box from front of box to centre of shifter, again 6 cylinder.

Cheers in saying that they should be the same as I have an xr6 box and so called a au v8 box bell housing and input shaft is different but problem is tail shaft and shifter doesn’t line up with floor hole and I’m not sure if hole in gllor is different from auto to manual , I have noticed press mark in floor but again not sure and seems to be hard to find out

the AU 6 & 8 use the same box housing [i believe] with the tail shaft being shorter for the manual. the EA to EL used a shorter rear housing of about 2 inches.

I think you are correct the box v8 one is 2 inches shorter. And now I would say from el or alike the bell housing is correct but that is bolt on , the shifter should come straight up for au ? At the moment would have to be dog legged

Thanks for your help

So is there a difference between the 6 and 8 t5 box the t5 xr6 box would fit perfectly the input shaft is the same as the so call v8 box but if I changed the bell housing it should fit but unsure of what affect it will have ?
