Hello,

I have Series 1 AU Fairmont in immaculate condition. Currently it has the 4.0L I6 INTECH powerplant onboard.

I am thinking about procuring a AU XR8 on the cheap and shifting the 5.0L V8 unit and gearbox into the Fairmont.

Thoughts? how difficult is such a job?

Not difficult but, time consuming. If you shift the entire harness and running gear it would easier than a mix and match of the two.
