Hi,
I'm no expert but i would check your relays, maybe the contacts are getting stuck. Try to get a loan of a couple of relays the same, and see if it does anything, if the fans go back to normal, buy some new relays. Let me know how you go mate, hope this helps! Cheers Jason. |

Apart from dodgy relays
On ELs, when thermo fans turn on at start, the ECU thinks there is a problem. Could be that the temp sender on the engine and/or automatic is faulty. Could be a fault in the ignition system. Try hooking up a mulitmeter to the test plug on your NL. If that doesn't work, go to a workshop, when I got my EL pre-purchase inspection, their computer detected that my speed sensitive steering wasn't working and that my left thermo fan was faulty. Also, the fans turn on whenever your climate control is on. Keep us updated FairmontXR6

I found that if your battery is low, the fans come on for now reason. My 5.0 does that when it has been sitting for a while( which it does a lot of lately).
