Phew - that was brief. Lol
Well, depends on what else you got. You have an EB? If so - chances are that your ECU isnt up to the task of controlling the thermo fans you may have got from an EF or an EL... Never fear. You need some sort of switch which reacts to the coolant temperature. These are easy to find and you just need to rig up a relay for it all... What kinda thermos?

EL...
Have you seen this: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=54 ?? Gives you an idea on how they need to be hooked up. I'd prob look at running one fan whenever the engine is started and then have the other fan come on with a thermo switch... something along those lines.. If you're OK with basic electronics (if you know how to rig up a relay) you should be able to do yourself.

Are you running AU BEM & AU ECU?
If so you maybe able to wire in the fans if not craig davies thermo switch & the other bits have a look at the DOCO

You need a davies criag thermo switch and two relays( preferably the ones with the in built 30amp fuse) one to switch one fan to cool radiator and the other relay to switch second fan with Air Con. This would take care of most situatins. However if you operate the car in adverse conditions suggest you get a third ralay to switch two fans on to cool radiator.
Remember you need one 30amp relay per fan. If you use one relay for two fans you will blow fuses. The fans draw 15 amp each when running, however at switch on the current can surge to 30amp. |

91 EB Fairmont Ghia 5.0L.
Just been resprayed stark white, front leather seats retrimed. Lowered pedders etc. Its my work car. I travel around country NSW, with occasional trips into VIC and QLD. I love driving it, handles great and very comfortable. My son was going to inherit the car, however P platers can't drive V8s anymore, so he is going to get my AU Fairmont i6. |
