how do I advance the timing on a windsor V8? I took the engine cover off and see the dizzy. Where do I loosen it up to twist the dizzy?
To advance timing is it clockwise or anti-clockwise Im told that if you run them at 32 degrees timing and use premium fuel it will go harder???? please help, pics would be awesome

easiest way to tell is to take the dizzy cap off and see which way it spins when you kick it over.
Turn the dizzy clockwise to advance. I would not be expecting huge gains out of it though unless it was set way too retarded to start with

dizzy locknut is very difficult to get to. 12 or 13mm bolt where it goes into the block. being an ef/l it will have thermo's though so that should make access a little easier.

To advance it is anti clockwise.
Rotate the dissy to the left.

hi, to advance its clockwise. I noticed a bit of difference.
the car absolutely bolts away off the line with a little more advance. doesnt ping at all but i do use at least 95 octane. Worthwhile doing...
