just thought i'd share for all those people out there wondering .. i wanted to fit the AU series tickford snorkel to my EL XR. Now they don't fit right away due to the pulley set up .. but do not dispair. dream it and you can do it. Not that I recommend my method but as I didnt have a lot to work with a baked my snorkel for about 2 minutes at 200'c in the oven, fitted it up (wearing saftey mits of course) and hand shaped it to fit, clearing the pulley! yahtzee.

well ,on most ive seen their is a flat moulded in front of the steerilg pump pulley to stop rubbing in to the plastic, and can be very hard to fit.in the photo you will see two white square blocks in front of the snorkel, thats where the screws mount and screw down, must be a hard fit evenwhen hotttt, dont know if heat gun would be better, great pics.

as such there isnt. the snorkel tube needs to be kinked upwards with a sharper bend to avoid the pinnochio pulley. that and it dosnt quite meet up to the lip of the bonnet to be screwed in, well thats what I found anyway.

Yeah i had that same problem with the Au Snorkel on mine.
So i just got an EL V8 one, seemed to flow as much, but good idea on the moulding.
Has it affected the amount it flows at all?

Nicely done. Yeah the last person i saw with an AU snorkel fitted to an e series V8 had heated it with the old heat gun and pressed it in to fit...

 as you may have guessed I didnt have a heat gun! I doubt the flow is affected much, the tubing seems to be larger than the stock intake so if anything it's just evened out, but as everybody says the intake part for the airbox is still small anyway. It's more there for looks than anything else. I will take another photo of the part i sorta bent away from the pulley.
