The "H" pipe creates more turbulance as the gases travels pass the point where the "H" pipe connects. It is ok at idle and low RPM's but when the RPM's increase the "H" part does nothing except cause the turbulances in the gases.

Talked to the guy at the exhaust shop in adelaide today and he reckons that I should be right for noise. Probably not legal but we will see. I am still going with the magnaflow x pipe.

your noise should be fine, as when I changed mine from the "H" to the "X" I think it was quieter at the higher RPM's as it got rid of the clap sound which I think made it louder.

I have Pacemakers, a single Lukey 3" system, with one muffler and a rear resonator, it's definately over the legal limit above 2000rpm, it's not too bad at idle, in 2 years I've had one cop ask me if it's legal (while he wrote out a defect for tyres) and I've been pulled over plenty of times. As long as the cops aren't total a***hole in Pt Agusta you should be fine.
I read an article years ago in Zoom magazine about an X-pipe, they tried 3 setups on a stockish VS Clubsport, first with no X-pipe, second with an X-pipe that was joined together for 6 inches, then the 3rd was 12 inches long. They picked up something like 12rwkw and a buckerload of torque with the 12" one. If you look under a V8supercar, they all run an X-pipe joined for at least 6"... |

I am just going to have to wait and seem, I reckon I'll be fine as I don't drive it all that often anyway. I am getting it done on the 10th in adelaide when Im on holidays. Can't wait to be able to drive around and not worry about how crap my exhaust sounds and whether I am gonna go to sleep because of the fumes.
