They say 600nm. Do you want a copy of the manual for it?

I don't think there is a difference in gear ratios and the input shaft. The input shaft on the 6 cylinder is thinner at the tip on the 5.0 if you don't have anything to compare them to before you go to look at the transmission stop and buy a pilot bearing for a 5.0 if it fits then it's good.

I'm led to believe this gearbox is withstanding the considerable torque of worked turbo sixes and even PD blown 5.4's. However I've heard that turbo 5.4's are the last straw which is pretty impressive. I'll probably throw the V10 in front of mine eventually....we'll see what happens.

Oh yeah Fairy. They don't mention any mechanical differences in the manual only torque converter stall speed differences etc.
The other problem is that they use an Electromechanical valve body in other words; the Trans controller is also actually part of the valve body itself. It then talks to the PCM via one wire. I am investigating the possibility of reflash for this controller. |

ok ...cheers Pete thats interesting , i presume then being the same box they must have a removeable bell housing so you could adapt from 6 -8 and vice versa ? .... then i spose you might also have to do something about the pcm as youve said ?

I seem to remember there being two ZFs too, the version fitted to Fairmonts etc rated at 450nm and a stronger version at 600nm.
