I'm glad this came up...This is my mates' twin turbo cleveland offroad buggy. It's a stock 302 with Weiand X-cellerator, modified 750 double pump(for blow through), duraspark dizzy with Crane H-6TR. He made his own headers for the WRX turbos he got for $150. It's not intercooled but it makes so much torque it's just outta control even with those f**k en huge tyres!...I know I just spent the weekend cutting up in it

Too right Brett!
After that weekend of cutting up I feel the need to build one! ....gotta make use for that V10 somehow! Took some boat anchor heads for rides at night, and when you consider it's a hairy ride in the day time, it scared the utter s**t out of them! |

To turbo an engine this size its going to make serious power...
So rods and pistons usually require replacing with forged parts.. Lower comp pistons around 8.5 compression as detonation is a big issue with any forced induction engine.. I prefer EFI as its much more tunable and stable.. A stand alone ECU is best to keep control of boost as most std ECUs don't have the ability to read above atmospheric pressure [1 bar].. The fuel supply needs to be upgraded depending what engine is in at the time.. Ateast a Walbro 225 in tank fuel pump.. As the higher pressure against boost takes a bigger pump to supply the amount of fuel requred.. Say fuel pressure is set at 40Lb this means the rail pressure is always 40Lb above in take manifold apsolute pressure [map] The hardest part is fabricating exhaust manifolds.. There are people out there making them... I fitted turbo's to a 5.0 XR8 about 12 years ago.. http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread ... +turboThen latter fitted an aftermarket block and been driving it every week since with out issues.. They don't have to rev to make power as torque is very high when load the engine up.. Meaning in higher gear than you generally would if n/a.. Upgraded auto or clutch, gear box is a must... This should be asked here.. viewforum.php
