heys guys -i was wondering if anybody KNEW from experience whether
a geardrive from a normal 289-302-351 would fit the EFI 5L roller (EL XR8) engine? The model of geardrive is a pro comp to suit SB FORD no other specs are listed & i noticed there was only the 1 model available..I believe that after 65' ford stuck with the thinner set but due to lack of experience with the later model i just need reasurring of the fit. cheers Kenny.

I don't cruise it as much as I used to, simply cos of the aragant police of the area, they are always on the hunt for "louder" V8's ,and mine is not that quiet now I have fitted a 3'' mandrel system,
not to mention if they used a sniffer they'd hang me!

Edlebrock part numbers how the same kit for 62-85 SB fords and 85-95 roller cam engines... but some difference in the spacer used...
I think main concern would be clearance with timing cover... i.e. you need to fiund out if the gear set is suitable for use with 94-95 mustang timing cover...

I wouldn't bother, from what I have heard they need some grinding for clearance and they won't really give you anything over a good double row chain.

Even the double chain you need to clearance the webbing inside the sprocket..No big deal though...My Dart block was the same...

apparently it fill fit without any mods, as it is designed off the "thin" timing set, giving more strength than chain, less timing change at higher rpm ,and has multi keyway for degreeing in.
only downside is the noise, but I will have to live with that. thanks for all the help guys, kenny
