punch in '08 F250 super duty(or E-series vans) or later for 3V's and 2000-up for PI 2V's...don't bother with non-PI engines.

Nice link! Who did you use for shipping pete?

Had to go look @ mustang forums what PI stood for though...

I got my PI engine for $300 locally.

Hey Toranaguy, sounds like you need a 6.8 super duty F350 tow truck to get rid of it outta your driveway!

Please tell me that was a typo and you actually meant $3000...

Wow, they're pretty long runners for an engine that's not stuggling for torque.
I suppose they werent really made to rev so extra torque is always welcome.

What would you do with the ecu/trans?

Trans I am guessing 4R75W or manual?

From my limited reading at work today have seen them using 5.4 V8 ecus (guessing engines are not DOHC like ours though) and adding wires/getting rewired then flashed to run the v10 in the US. This was all in F series conversions.

Do our falcons use ecu's which could be reflashed similarly with US programs or are they different?

**edit: just realised doing this won't allow you to use the autos mated to our 5.4's anyway as would then have US program with their box; mind blank (dreaming of 6 speed v10)

I'd just run a TR6060 from a BA-FG and use a V10 truck PCM.
I've looked into the code and whilst our PCM's have the 10cyl code I don't believe they have enough drivers for the extra cyls and coils. Got a link to where they say they actually reflashed a V8 PCM to drive a V10?
if you used one in Pre-BA it'd be easier to use the 2V V10 EECV...even on a 3V and use a 1/4 horse.

Was editing my original post as you replied (thinking about auto options as doubt a 4R100 will fit in a falcon).

I'll track down the link for you, I think they were talking about using EECV.

**edit: Okay misread when I first went through, it wasn't reflashed but used the v8 wiring loom (as the guy bought the wrong one) and had to modify it as even though both V8 & V10 were EECV most of the pinouts were different between the two.

Errghh what happens when you are flicking between work & reading 10 page threads

For an auto I'd just run a 4R70W and beef it up like I'm doing for my Range rover. I'm running Baumann Eng. Optishift to control it but if there are some V8 PCM's that do in fact have the extra drivers you'd have that control the whole show.
E40D/4R100/5R100 etc are definitely physically too big.
Ah yeah think I saw that thread awhile back.

Optishift....

Mmmmm.

Out of curiousity how did the engine mounts in the ED go lining up with the block? I'm guessing it would all be too easy if they lined up nicely...I am yet to see an F truck conversion with pictures of what mounts they used even though they talk about having to modify them :(

I didn't look at the engine mounts because you'd likely use BA mounts and just mod the K-member to suit. You certainly wouldn't use crappy EB-D ones. Might be good time to use an EF-L K-member which also have good mounts.

Not going to say was considering it for an AU. I'm meant to be selling it and buying something I won't be tempted to further play with and with more torque for easier towing....f**k.

An AU may have bonnet clearance issues....well, more than the other vehicles anyway.

All the crown vic/marauder conversions I can find haven't been finished :(

Does appear the best option for auto would be using F series PCM to control engine then Baumann to control the tranny. Was curious to see what transmission they put in an alleged "Police Interceptor" crown victoria that was made as a test. Apparently it used the v10 & tranny from an F series, but I haven't actually seen anywhere confirming it was a 4R100, which would have been a big PITA to fit.

Good to see d***head on other countries forums too; was a great argument when someone claimed they had switched a 4r100 and 4r70w on an F truck and it was plug and play.

As far as bonnet height goes could always get a bulge/fab up a low slung manifold. I am more concerned with mounts/accessories/engine wiring/starter/steering column (although same applies to exhaust manifold as intake).
