Grant, when I looked up the Crane website, I couldn't find the 2030 or the 2031 cam specs listed under those numbers. What are they listed as?

Part number for the Crane 2030 is 444221, Crane 2031 is 444225.

I paid $250 for a new in box (but second hand) Crane 2030, so see if you can bargain him down on the TFS1.

If you've already got the MAF, you may find it cheapest to get Chiptorque to do a chip for you. For $600, they should be ablt to provide their generic tune with the correct MAF transfer function for the MAF you've got.

Also, if the 19# injectors are marginal, you could always fit an adjustable fuel pressure reg to increase your rail pressure (and hence injector flow).

So the 2030 will run fine with no addional aftermarket rr's? Will that provide more performance than the 2031 with 1.7 rr's?

I would personally always use roller rockers with aftermarket cams, I guess you could use stock rockers with the 2030 but its not a great idea IMO.

So fitting a set of 1.6 rr's to the 2030 would be a smart move then just as you would fit 1.7 rr's to the 2031 allowing both to get the most out of their respective cams? Would this be the same with the TFS1?

Yeah thats it, roller rockers reduce friction and valvetrain harmonics, reducing wear on the vavle train and producing more power. The aftermarket windsor cams generally have very quick ramp rates and fairly high lift (500th+) so can be hard on the valvetrain, thats why roller rockers should really be fitted with aftermarket performance cams.

The 2030 and TFS1, like the majority of Windsor cams are designed for 1.6 roller rockers. Unless you already have the roller rockers, just pick the cam you want then get the matching ratio rockers.

Well I will be looking up the TFS1 cam as soon as I find it on the net so that will be three packages for me to consider.
I am also kinda interested in finding out about Comp cams. I heard that their cam grinds are quite schmick but that they cost more, or something along those lines. Has anyone got any knowledge of Comp cams for the Windsor?

TFS1 aka TFS-51402000 specs can be found at http://www.trickflow.com/product/camsan ... k_cams.asp and are actually a comp cams design (not sure if it was jointly developed by trickflow and comp cams, or if it was an existing comp cams design that trickflow bought).

There are a number of good comp cam profiles around and yeah from what I have found they are generally higher priced in Australia, I would probably look at the 270HR/XE270HR or maybe 281HR

Yep, as EDXR8 has said, 1.6 RRs are a very wise move when running a more agressive cam profile and higher spring rates (and turning higher engine RPM).

I am using YT "Stealth" adjustable 1.6:1 roller rockers.

They were $562 from VPW, about $100 more than the non-adjustables...

A fair whack of money isn't it and the cam will be a few hundred too. It's amazing how fast it starts to add up... :o
