Pretty sure my brother just wrote off his NF Fairlane 302W.
The motor has just had 2000 spent on it. Brand new heads / gaskets / pullys / waterpump / hydrolic balancer..

I am considering doing a conversion on my EA 6 Mpfi.

I know i will have to upgrade suspension etc. Has anyone ever put a V8 into there EA? Sorry if this has been posted B4 but i couldn't find anything.

How hard / easy would it be to do?
I am mainly worried about the wiring loom being different etc.

And yes yes i know "6's are quicker so why bother"........

Because nothing beats the sound of an 8 and running boost i thinki would be quite content. :D

That looks like a nice EA to do it to.
I was expecting the usual banged up EA LOL.
The sixes are as quick in stock form, but there is so much after market stuff for the 8, there's no limit.
With the 6 you're very limited.
And like you said mate, the sound and feel... Go for it!

how badly is the lane damaged?

perhaps a complete engine and interior swap could be done.

that way you get all the need wiring and ECU plus a nice upgrade inside too.
looks to be good EA to do it too

one thing to consider is the fact that EA's didn't come with V8's from the factory so you'd be looking at getting an engineers certificate

Wow, best EA i've ever seen!

I've done the V8 conversion in my EB. Very similar job, but as already stated, the EA never came with a V8 so you'll have some engineering hassles to get around, but its mostly legal and paperwork differences.

Make sure you have a good donor vehicle. You'll need all the EB Series 1 V8 looms to suit your option level (GLi/Fairmont/), probably need to change the gbox and diff due to some compatability issues there as well.

If youre serious about it theres alot of knowledge in this V8 forum, we'll get you through it :)

Indeed, but thats another story all together :) V8 conversion is a fun job. Interior conversion is quite painful... been there done that! :)
