Hi all
Have a 5 litre into my xf running manual gearbox and using the existing auto ecu. Have connected a neutral gear switch and clutch swith instead of tranny controller. From what i can tell the ecu doesnt have a tacho signal input? I haver a fault code "lost tacho signal" or "spout grounded". The spout isnt grounded and the only tacho wiring i can see is from coil to tfi module and cluster. Any ideas? maybe an intermittent tfi module or suspect coil. Thanks |

Tach signal is called IDM and connects to the ecu via a 22k resistor.
Without a manual ecu or chip with manual code you are also missing out on a bunch of HP since the TID signal is no longer being fed to the ecu. Get a manual chip with forced neutral state, then you don't need to worry about clutch switches at all.
