hey fellas
im new to this site, i have a 93 EB fairmont ghia original 5.0 V8, which has a AU TE50 motor, unichip, shift kit, el thermos and a few other mods, full run down of the car can be found in the below link, i'm thinking if i dont sell it il start investing some more cash to get some more power out of it, so im wanting some suggestions on which direction to take? im thinking of starting with bigger cam and maybe a manual conversion... have been toying with the idea of going down the road of bolting on a charger, but funds atm are probably not gonna let that happen i am a student tho so $$$ dollars dont come easy, any suggestions/advice would be welcome, cheers jono link with full list of car n mods- http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11224995 Last edited by EB-TE50 on Wed Jul 23, 2008 1:58 am, edited 1 time in total. |

Is it on straight LPG or dual fuel?
If dual choose one or the other, no engine can perform to its optimum trying to be tuned for two completely different fuels. For my money I'd put it on straight LPG and look at a camshaft swap. Another forum member has an ED wagon with straight LPG and a Crane 2040 cam, he's really happy with the improvement it made. The manual conversion will also make it more enjoyable on the street. Think also about fitting a 3.45:1 diff.

Hey Hey Jono. Nice car
Start with the Manual Conversion - The Gearbox in the Car is good, but the manual will bring out all kinds of "Interesting" especially with the LSD being as tight as it is in the car. It may almost be enough for you to no longer "need" other mods to performance. The thing is : Once you start, you dont stop. But gee you have a lot of fun. Cheers Nigel |

Jono. The Manual Conversion is a little bit of stuffing around, but its worth it. Im doing it on an EF in the next 2 weeks. Its a single weekend of getting your hands dirty. A V8 Auto is probably worth a little bit on the S/H Market as well.
Try FTG (they are a sponsor on here) for the Conversion, and use a Mal Wood Clutch pin to make the clutch side of things very easy. Cheers Nigel |
