Just got my new v8 and what i would like to know what is it i have to do to make the ecu think that its a manual and not an auto as i'm going to pull the auto off and mate it to an manual cheers

Have a look at my build thread in the garage section. make sure you get the right T5. You will need to have a look in the tech doco section for the manual conversion, even though it says for a 6 cyl, the electronics still do the same. Or for $130 you can buy a J3 chip, plug and play. It can be tuned to whatever ecu you want too.
