After meddling around with my POD/ Sequential scoop, ive found my car to be rather dead on full throttle. Its now all back to stock, ive had my mechanic re-boot the ecu. However when I floor it the car just seems too be out of power. It seems to go fine when accelerating whilst driving, thats no drama's ..

what can I check or possibly have done ? It seems as tho its intake related, like its restricted or something.. my car didnt even have enough power to do a standstill!! any ideas.. ?? running a new filter in the car..

after the xmas break i will be taking it in to be checked over properly, but anybody know anything..

check faluts sounds like a airflow meter problem or maybe a tps proberly not though.

Yeah sounds like MAF to me, check that it is pluged in properly otherwise it may have been damaged (could check this by running the codes or by unpluging it and seeing if it makes any difference to driving, if it doesn't the MAF is stuffed). Also worth removing the electronics and cleaning the sensor wires, sometimes when a new reusable airfilter is installed and has a bit too much oil on it, the oil can coat the sensor wires causing it to go lean.

What about the little sausage thing on the side of the intake ( do EL's
have them?) If its been over tightened (over tightened will crush the plastic in causing a gap) ........or to loose, this will cause your problem.
Loss of power.

its almost the same as when I was trying to use my maxflow MAF that just did nothing but cause the car to be s**t.. but that was ages ago.. oh well i will have to take it to my mechanic.. how do i clean them MAF sensor wires without killing them ??

To clean the sensor, remove the electronics and spray carby cleaner over the sensor wires, let it soak for a minute then repeat. Some say to carefully clean with a cotton bud coated in carby cleaner but you have to do this very carefully and I would only attempt it if it was really dirty and spraying alone did not clean it. If the same thing happened with the maxflow MAF (and that MAF had the correct 19lb sample tube), then I would bet that the sensor wires are either very dirty (causing it to go lean therefore loose power), or the sensor unit itself is dodgy (normally causing the engine to go very rich, again causing a loss in power)

Check that the MAF plug seal hasn't tipped over when unplugging/plugging in. This can cause the pins to not contact. unplug it and refit the seal to be sure.
