Hey guys...im buying some new valve springs tomoro due to one breaking so im doing the whole lot...The Crane heavy duty ones are about twice the price of the Crow heavy duty ones...but i cant get the Crane ones by tomorow anyway due to no stock......will the Crow ones be just as good as the Crane ones???? or at least better than the stock ones on the EB XR8s???

Depends on the application

For a stock cam, or anything with less than 0.500" valve lift, stock valve springs will be fine. Any more pressure and youre just increasing load on the cam lobes.

Just pick a spring which is suited to the lift and ramp of the cam.

I run the crow 7738 springs on mine and have not had any issues, and have run cams with 550th lift reving to well over 6k without valve float.

Roller cams require good springs as there lift ramps are fairly steep..I'd use the double springs...I think you MAY require different retainers....Quite possible a 2030 / 2031 cam ?
They are over .500 and WILL break std springs!!! Stuff up your valve stems too by all the valve bounce...
Just ask Kelli....

I am using Compcam springs #978-16 with crane 2031. They are doubles with damper. 126lb @1.850" to 368lb @ 1.250".

I am not positive, when I got mine they said I needed the springs and matching retainers and I know most performance springs come in a package with retainers etc, so I am not sure is you could get away with the stock ones.
