buy a hyundai.
seriously you buy a gt, the ("performance") model, but concerned about fuel, next you'll say it's auto.

Pressurize the fuel tank with compressed air, to increase the size of the tank. 8-)
Switch off when going down a hill. 8-)
Inflate the tyres to 100psi, to reduce rolling resistance. 8-)
Cover the grille, bonnet gaps, window gaps, etc with duct tape, to reduce wind resistance. 8-)

Or stop sitting down to piss, sprinkle a bit of cement on your cereal, and deal with driving a GT.

Doesn't installing cold air induction give the car better economy? I heard that was one of the improvements so maybe try that?

f**k this just reminded me of my boss when I asked him why he didn't option up the towbar on his new malloo and said it was because of the extra weight would suck more fuel, and he didn't really need it. He lefted me speechless to comprehend his reasoning of 10kg extra would be fuel issue, If I'd been able to comprehend, I'd probably have fallen over laughing.

First what actual economy is it getting?

There may be something wrong, or it may be normal and you need to harden up.

What are you actually getting?
My BA Pursuit get's 10.8L/100 on long trips, around town it's 15.7. Seems pretty damn good to me.

Absolute Gold!!

Use the two and 60 rule mate, 2 windows down at 60kmh. Aircon sucks the juice a bit.

Or you can just disconnect all the injectors on one side!! :) I actually done this by accident once and was like, why does thing thing sound like its half dead? then realised all the injectors on the drivers side were disconnected, and it still ran!!!! I couldnt believe it aye.
