Hi,
Contact an engineer and ask for an opinion / rough price. I am thinking you have a 2 door ? Anyway I think the US models had a V8, if so and you have details it may make it easier. I have put in a bigger engine in a car and had no problems because the larger engine was available in a different country. Tech Standards at the Motor Registry wanted to have a look, and it bolted up to the gearbox and engine mounts the way it should so they were happy with it. Long time ago now though.

Check with a local engineer and see what he requires to certify the project or even if it will be approved in SA.

Hi,
Have a look here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Falco ... America%29 This may help, but you may have to get a 260. Some early Falcon's had braces from the towers to the firewall, ( which I would fit ) and I think the XP Fairmont had front disc's which would also be a help in your project. Not sure when the bigger ball joints went in but that is another thing I would fit.

Also, you'll need to put a brace under the engine ( this was an option on some XP's....it looked like it was made from pipe ).....and was removealbe. RRS or Hoppers Stoppers should be able to bring your brakes up to scratch....and certified too.
